Their small size allows them to reach hardly accessible spots like Castello d’Albertis.  Thanks to single-use headphones, it is possible to listen to the commentary, available in 6 languages (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish and Russian), which will explain Genoas’ history whilst stopping by the various monuments and points of interest.

This street is located in the magnificent aristocratic district of Strada Nuova, built in the XVI century. It offers an extraordinary tour through Palazzi dei Rolli, splendid private residences that, since 1576, welcomed the many illustrious guests of the Republic of Genoa.

4. Piazza Fontane Marose
Large and important square in the city center, surrounded by numerous elegant palaces, declared World Heritage by UNESCO

5. Piazza De Ferrari

The largest square in the historic city centre, which marks the border between the old part of the city and the modern city. On the square and its immediate surroundings, we can find the ancient Palazzo Ducale, which houses various Exhibitions throughout the year, the Carlo Felice Theater, Theatre of the Opera, the nineteenth-century palaces of Via XX Settembre and the splendid fountain.

6. The House of C. Columbus
The current building was built at the end of the seventeenth century on the remains of the house where Cristoforo Colombo was believed to have been born. Right behind it, one can find Porta Soprana, the city gate that guarded the east entrance to the city.

7. Piazza Corvetto
A Nineteenth-century square, dominated by Villetta Dinegro and the Equestrian statue of Vittorio Emanuele. As in the XIX century, this is an important crossroads today.

10. Boccadasse
Boccadasse is an ancient fishing village with a special charm. Its old houses and narrow streets have inspired numerous poets and songwriters. It owes its name to the shape of the inlet where it is located which looks like a “böcca d’äse”, a donkey mouth in Genoese.

11. Castello D’Albertis
It is an elegant neo-gothic building that dominates the city, overlooking the port from the hill of Monte Galletto. The castle is enriched by collections of precious findings from all over the world, which the Captain d’Albertis brought home from his journeys.
