Porta Soprana with its towers gave access to the medieval city. This structure dates back to 1155. A lovely view of the city can be seen from the top of its towers.

Christopher Columbus house is located near Porta Soprana. Currently the building operates as a museum, under the management of the “Porta Soprana Genovese Cultural Association”.

Sant’Agostino Museum is the most important museum of sculpture in Liguria. It houses a fine collection of artifacts which dates back to the Classical period, the Middle Ages and XVIII century, the most important of which is the tomb of Margaret of Brabant. This is a sculptural ensemble by Giovanni Pisano, chief architect of Siena Cathedral.
